Occupational Therapist

This is a Part time Position

The Occupational Therapist provides occupational therapy services to residents to include assessment and treatment, development and implementation of programs, and related professional in-services. Performs duties under the direction of physicians orders.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct screenings of residents at regular intervals to determine need for intervention/treatment.
  
  
• Evaluates residents to obtain data necessary for treatment planning and implementation. Conducts specialized evaluations as indicated.
  
  
• Monitors residents response to intervention and modifies treatment as indicated to attain goals in accordance with physicians orders.
  
  
• Provides/recommends/fabricates adaptive devices or other equipment, trains resident and caregiver in the use or application of orthotics and prosthetics.
  
  
• Develops appropriate home or community programming to maintain and enhance the performance of the resident in his or her own environment.
  
  
• Reviews the quality and appropriateness of the total services delivered and of individual Occupational Therapy programs for effectiveness and efficiency, using predetermined criteria.
  
  
• Supervises and directs COTAs in the implementation of the treatment plan.
  
  
• Supervises students and volunteers in accordance with state regulations.
  
  
• Assumes responsibility for ongoing continuing education and professional development.
  
  
• Records indirect and billable treatment times according to Occupational Therapy Department procedures and submits weekly/monthly statistics to regional office.
  
  
• Provides treatment in accordance with established standards of practice, department procedures and productivity standards.
  
  
• Complies with all Infection Control, Universal Precautions and OSHA standards for the health care professional.
  
  
• Assists with and participates in Quality Assurance Programs as required.

Occupational Therapist

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  
  
• Successful completion of National Certification Examination for OTR
  
  
• Current state licensure or license eligible.
