Job Description
|
An excellent organization has an exciting position available in our Information Technology department for an Applications Developer. This is a direct hire opportunity with great benefits, an ideal work environment with free covered parking, and front door access to public transit.
This position serves as the applications developer in the Information Technology. This position has responsibility for encoding, testing, debugging and documenting programs for all web-based applications and projects. The programmer will provide maintenance for existing applications and will require working with non-technical teams and third-party technical consultants for major enhancements to existing and new systems. This position is responsible for working with staff to explore and conceptualize creative solutions and delivery of web based applications. This includes development of prototype concepts through final design, implementation and maintenance. The selected candidate must be able to work independently on projects; troubleshoot problems to determine whether the problem is hardware or software related, identify and resolve issues, implement solutions, prepare and maintain documentation.
The successful applicant will be a team player and participate fully in coordination efforts. This position will be able to translate agency requirements, user needs
, and technical capabilities into web designs that are visually exciting and easy to use.
The successful applicant will have the following qualifications and skills. Two or more years experience with all aspects of web based applications development including strategy, design, functionality and implementation, and an awareness of current trends in web site application development. The candidate must be highly organized and able to multi-task; demonstrate a proven record of taking projects from concept to completion; have the ability to work independently and with a team to complete assignments within specified deadlines; and excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Additional responsibilities will include general workstation, network and server support for office staff. The office systems and software run in a Microsoft environment.
Technical Requirements: 2-3 Years of T-SQL on MS SQL Servers (MUST BE STRONG IN THIS) 2+ Years of HTML/CSS/JavaScript 1-2 Year(
s) of Classic ASP 1-2 Year(s) of ASP.NET w/C# Experience (or VB.net and C++) 1-2 Years AJAX; WCF; MVP; N-Tier
Stored procedures
Preferred: Microsoft Certifications; and BS in IT or related field
