Z-Tech, an ICF International Company is currently seeking a Bioinformatics Senior Software Developer to support our National Center for Toxicological Research (NCTR) client in Jefferson, Arkansas. The National Center for Toxicological Research (NCTR), FDA's internationally recognized research center, plays a critical role in the FDA's mission. NCTR-in partnership with researchers from elsewhere in FDA, other government agencies, academia, and industry-provides innovative technology, methods development, vital scientific training, and technical expertise. The unique scientific expertise of NCTR is critical in supporting FDA product centers and their regulatory roles. This is an opportunity to join a world-class research team at the FDA's National Center for Toxicological Research. The team is on the cutting edge in developing methods and software for analyzing and interpreting biological data for modern biotechnology.
The FDA is entirely modernizing its enterprise IT architecture to provide comprehensive bioinformatics capability. The bioinformatics software developer will develop scientific applications compliant with FDA software development standards. Software and databases will be used to accept, manage, and analyze sponsor-submitted and general scientific data, and to facilitate regulatory scientist's risk/benefit assessments and regulatory decisions. Will serve as an expert in data architecture, database system design, development, deployment, and maintenance and should be proficient in different programming languages and database development architectures.
Experience Required: Experience in algorithmic and software development for biological/medical sciences. C++ and JAVA programming, ORACLE, Windows / UNIX systems administration, JAVA Enterprise programming for SOA, HL7, and high performance computing. Any experience in systems development in a biomedical computing environment would be deemed especially pertinent.
Education Requirements: An advanced degree (PhD or MS) or equivalent experience in software development/computer science is required
