Job Description

Purpose and function of job:

Lead establishment and administration of the GMAC Commercial Credit Policy, Strategy and delegated authorities.

Principle duties and responsibilities of this job classification:

- Lead the administration of the GMAC Commercial Credit Policy Strategy, and delegated authorities.



- Stay appraised of changes in product offerings (new, revised, and/or enhanced products) and all lines of business’ structure in order to ensure appropriate policies and delegated authorities are in place.



- Stay abreast of any legislative and/or regulatory pronouncements that may affect GMAC’s business and/or products and ensure that policy statements are updated to reflect these changes.



- Ensure lines of business’ procedures/processes are consistent with and in support of the Enterprise credit Policy and delegated authorities.



- Lead and actively participate in commercial credit risk related projects for the Basel II/Risk Change Management Program, with the overall objective achieving full compliance as Bank Holding Company.Technical Competencies:

- Demonstrates sufficient knowledge and solid understanding of commercial lending, dual risk rating systems, procedures, and strategic business requirements to evaluate, recommend, and implement risk policy and risk change management programs.



- Competent writer of corporate policies and communications.



- Must have an understanding and commitment of the continuous business improvement process.



- Must have the analytical ability to develop and execute strategic and tactical plans.



- Background knowledge of Basel II a plus.



Education and experience requirements:

Minimum – Bachelor’s Degree



Major field of study: Accounting, Finance, Business Administration



Ten years of risk governance experience in a commercial banking or financial services environmentPersonal Competencies:

- Individual must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.



- Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively and effectively at all levels of the organization.



- Individual must be an effective change agent with highly developed problem-resolution skills.



- Good organizational skills with the ability to work independently and initiate proactively.
