Job Description
|
This is an estimated 3-month contractual assignment through Manpower Professional. Our client is seeking an experienced Implementation Technician in the State College, PA area. The Technician will perform tasks associated with the installation, turn up, test and maintenance of transport, private line and data services. In addition, turn up, test and maintain DS0 - OC192, 2.5G/10G waves, installation of data equipment and CPE. Knowledge in VF transmission and termination is require as well. Additional duties would include 1) responsible for DSX/OSX x-cons and labeling; 2) resolves customer/netwrok problems involving power, cabling, hardware and software; 3) uses administrative and technical tools to isolate and diagnose customer/network problems; and 4) idenitifes problems and implements changes to enhance efficieny and responsiveness. This is a temporary assignment to last approximately 3 months.
Candidate Profile
Qualified candidates will have a high degree of experience and/or knowledge of at least two of the four major technician disciplines, such as Transmission (DS1/DS3/SONET), Switching (circuit-switching/SS7), TCP/IP (routers/high-layer protocols), and Outside Plant (Fiber locating, OTDR, Mass Fusion Splicing). 2 - 6 years Technician experience in telecommunications/data center environment. MUST HAVE SONET, IP/Data experience. MUST HAVE working knowledge of transport and IP/Data. MUST HAVE working knowledge of standard telephony tools and test equipment. Specific technology: 5ESS Switch, Titan 5500 3/1 DACS, Tellabs 532 1/0 DACS, SONET Elements, OC-48 Rings, OC-12 Rings, LH OC-48 Rings, DWDM, Fuji 7420, Lucent DMX.
