About Us
Role Summary/Purpose As a Lead OMT Technician for GE O&M (Operations & Maintenance), you will have hands-on responsibility to operate, start, stop and monitor equipment in a 170 MW combined cycle generating station. This role is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the facility during assigned shift.
Essential Responsibilities
* Lead and participate in the startup and shutdown of plant equipment from the control room and/or locally
* Monitor and maintain all required data logs / records
* Maintain log of meter and gauge reading and record data such as water test results and quantity of fuel consumed
* Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks, inspections and troubleshooting as assigned
* Comply with all applicable environmental, health and safety policies
* Coordinate and direct activities of assigned operators
* Operate all plant equipment / systems within scope of responsibility
* Implement and maintain the Lockout-Tagout procedure; coordinate the safe release of plant equipment for maintenance activities
* Aggressively maintain a safe working environment to include good housekeeping practices of assigned work area
Qualifications/Requirements
* High School Diploma or G.E.D. or Technical Training via military or technical school
* Minimum of three years of experience in a combined cycle operating plant and/or marine engineering with at least two years of gas turbine experience and at least two years of experience in control room or higher level position

* Possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
* Proficient with computers including Microsoft Office Products
* Ability to stand/walk for up to 12 hours continuously, lift up to 50 lbs., climb stairs and ladders to height of 100 feet frequently, wear a respirator / SCBA, and work prolonged periods outdoors under all weather conditions
* Willingness to apply for and ability to receive a US Department of Homeland Security Transportation Worker Identification Credential

Exceptions to these requirements will be determined based on shortage of qualified candidates with a particular skill.

Desired Characteristics
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Minimum of two years of experience in a combined cycle operating plant with GE Gas and Steam Turbines
* Demonstrated ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and process drawings
