Job Description
|
General Overview:
Media & Communications Specialist position will work for Serco, Inc., Reston, Virginia, providing communications support to Federal Agency clients in the Northern Virginia and Washington DC area.
Position Description
Media & Communications Specialist will, with minimal supervision from the Communications lead and working closely with agency management, develop, organize, administer and support communications and marketing activities to execute Strategic Communications Task Orders under various Federal contracts. In addition to possessing the communications skills necessary to develop and implement strategic communications plans, the ideal candidate will be an outgoing self-starter, a critical thinker and have a real passion for the work.
Duties include but are not limited to activities in support of broad strategic communications objectives that will include writing and disseminating internal press releases, writing marketing and/or informational copy, coordinating e-mail promotional campaigns, the management of print and electronic mailing lists and the creation and distribution of online news letters. Candidate will make presentations, render reports and create and distribute brochures, set up and man information booths/kiosks, and also create, manage and distribute email blasts to employees, host web forums and interagency town hall meetings/forums, visual media such as the production and distribution of informational DVDs, webcasts, website content, etc. In addition, candidate will establish and process user feedback information for quality assurance for future recommendations, course corrections and new initiatives. Feedback from agency employees will be an important for implementing new marketing initiatives. Required Skills
Candidate must be a US Citizen
Position requires Active Secret Clearance or candidate must be clearable.
Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree
Minimum of 5-10 years experience in the Communications field
Proficient in all Microsoft Office Applications
Understanding of U.S. Military and military family programs is desirable
Prior Government experience is desirable
This will require travel between Reston and and the client site in Crystal City
Desk Top Publishing Tools competency a plus
Prior DOD communications experience is desirable
