Job Description BAE Systems is seeking a Program Manager who will be responsible for Army Space & Missile Defense Command programs. The incumbent will provide direct customer support as well as supervision of project managers and matrix engineering and functional staff. This position will support growth of existing work as well as development of new business opportunities.

This position will be located at our Huntsville, AL facility.

Primary Responsibilities -

* Executes and directs programs in accordance with Corporate Life Cycle Management processes and procedures. Determines work schedules, set priorities and ensures all procedures are performed in support of work activities. Directs and monitors work performance in order to meet customer requirements. Ensures work performed meets cost, schedule, performance and quality requirements.

* Directs the work activities of subordinate employees. Coordinates performance reviews/appraisals with Technical Operations staff. Resolves performance issues and takes necessary corrective action, as required.

* Maintains and promotes good customer relationships. Coordinates work tasks with customer representatives. Keeps customer informed on status and progress of assigned tasks. Coordinates program reviews and directs the preparation of status and progress reports. Provides periodic (weekly, monthly, annual) reporting to supervisor, as required.

* Participates in developing new business opportunities. Supports development of marketing plans and proposal preparation. Defines work statements, staffing requirements and cost analysis for bids. The scope of this activity can range from task order proposal responses on existing contracts, to bids as subcontractor to prime bids.

* Establishes and monitors financial controls to adhere to program budgets. Maintains program cost estimates and accounting records. Monitors budget expenditures and supports the preparation of budget plans and justifications. Participates in make/buy decisions and coordinates the selection of subcontractors. Keeps upper management informed regarding program status.

* Represents Company at various customer or sponsor meetings. Provides Company interface to local defense community, as required. Previous experience working with US Army Space and Missile Defense Command required.

* Performs other duties as required.

Must have the following:

* Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited college/university

* 15 or more years of defense industry experience

* Demonstrated experience managing programs with a value in excess of $10M annually

* Army SMDC and MDA experience

* Active Secret security clearance required

* Proficient with MS Office suite

* Understanding of budgets and financial management required.

* Proven management, communication, organizational, and motivational skills. Must be able to multi-task. Ability to meet short deadlines.
