A major Washington DC-based retail group is seeking a successful senior executive to serve as president of a growing e-commerce business that is focused on timeless, classic fashions targeted at the growing population of affluent retail consumers in emerging markets (China, India, Brazil) and the domestic US.
This executive should have verifiable year-on-year success achieving revenue, profit and market growth objectives. The position requires a committed, entrepreneurial attitude and ability to develop creative solutions for rapidly growing a dynamic, international e-commerce business. The qualified candidate will have extensive experience growing organizations in multiple international locations. Requires deep understanding of critical business drivers in multiple markets, with high degrees of success in building vendor relationships that drive cost reduction and margin increases. Seeking a hands-on, motivational leader who gets involved in all aspects of the business, works at all levels of the organization, sets and defends a strong vision, gets into the details, and can multi-task in both team and individual situations.
The successful candidate will demonstrate an affinity for historical fashion trends and values, have an interest in or affinity for the visual and plastic arts (“a good eye”), and have demonstrated experience with: P&L management/budgeting, staff development/leadership, sales and merchandising, web site development, supply chain organization, e-commerce economics, strategic supplier development, supply chain optimization, marketing and advertising, product development and management, operations and manufacturing reengineering, performance assessment and improvement, international business, contract negotiations. Ideally, the candidate will have run a successful internationally-focused e-commerce business, have work experience in the fashion industry, and have work experience in China.
