Interprets quality assurance requirements and policy to key personnel in organization Reviews contracts and technical data package for product requirements, documentation, and required records. Coordinates with other departments regarding these requirements to assure continuity throughout the manufacturing process. Develops sampling procedures and instructions for recording, evaluating and reporting data. Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes where appropriate. Works with closely Process Engineering to assist in performing process capability studies. Establishes Acceptance criteria for product based in technical data requirements and company requirements. Makes recommendations whether to continue business with vendors based on Quality Engineering reviews Reviews all data obtained during all quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures. Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities and actions being taken to improve the situation. Prepares and presents technical and program information to the management team Directs technical and administrative workers engaged in quality assurance activities Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards. Plays an active role on quality management teams within the organization Works closely with resident DCMA representatives requiring product quality and quality requirements Designs and implements quality assurance training programs for hourly personnel, salaried personnel and management Investigates and adjusts customer complaints requiring quality. Issues CARs and SCARs as appropriate. Works closely with Suppliers and Supplier Quality Assurance in assuring quality of vendor products. Requirements: Must be able to obtain and retain a Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance if required. Must be willing to work in an environment that requires a "Safety First" attitude. Employee must be willing to obey all Safety, Health & Environmental rules/regulations prescribed by regulatory agencies that are incorporated into company policy. Employee must report any unsafe acts or conditions immediately to their supervision and participate in a team hazard to produce a work place that is free from hazards and personal injury. Must be able to read and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
B.S. Degree in Engineering or Science and 5-7 years related Quality experience; or 15 years Quality Engineering. Strong background in Geometric Dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) including part/gaging and stack up requirements
