Job Responsibilities:

Transform business requirements into logical data models

Assist in the development of extended logical model and physical model

Assist in the development and enforcement of names conversion from Logical to Physical

Assist application developers

Ensure operational effectiveness of the current Information Technology systems. Participate in the following:

Performance Monitoring and Tuning

Environment Troubleshooting and Vendor support

Support of Packaged Application Software (PeopleSoft, Documentum, WebLogic Portal, etc)

Setup and maintain documentation and standards

Determine and manage application indexes necessary to optimize database performance

Maintaining integrity of databases, including referential integrity checking and multiple access schemes (locking)

Maintaining data integrity by establishing standards; monitoring performance

Providing information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing database performance and trends

Ability to collaborate with development teams and production support team in meeting deliverables from both a quality and schedule perspective

They could also be required to provide 2nd tier off-hours remote support

Required Skills:

Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the modeling, development and implementation of databases

Minimum of 5 years of Relational Data base Design, Dimensional modeling (Star & Snow Flake)

Minimum of 5 years of Role & Use of Normalization/ Denormalization

Minimum of 5 years of Physical Data model Implementation (Db2, SQL Server & Oracle)

Minimum of 3 years SQL Optimization support, Scripting & Stored Procedure coding (Db2, SQL Server & Oracle)

Must have a strong understanding of Conceptual & Logical Data Model

Requirements Analysis, Problem Solving, Promoting Process Improvement, Data Maintenance, Database Performance Tuning, Process Improvement

Strong experience in performance tuning & query optimization

Excellent customer service, organizational, and communication skills

Desired Skills:

Data Analysis/Analytical skills (iSeries Database knowledge)

Would prefer experience with the following Data Modeling tools: ER/STUDIO, Erwin/IBM Control Center, QUEST, etc, Shell Scripting (Unix)

Experience in implementing a data warehouse is preferred

Knowledge of Healthcare Industry

Object Oriented Modeling (UML)

Minimum Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent work experience
