Mission Operations Services:
IIS Mission Operations and Services (MOS) is a leading provider of systems and operational support for signals intelligence and multi-INT missions. MOS develops high-performance signals intelligence systems and integrates, as well as processes and disseminates, intelligence for a variety of both domestic and international customers.
Job Description:
Primary duties for the System Engineer II are to configure and monitor a complex operational system (software and hardware) and to maintain system operations. Responsibilities include execution of operational procedures, monitoring of system health, and response to anomalous operations. Duties also include development, review and maintenance of operational procedures as required to sustain operations.
Must attend and complete operator certification training. Operator certification must be maintained by self study and program refresher training.
Other operator duties include support to system integration and test, procedure tests and validation and support to system readiness events prior to delivery.
Manages multiple assignments and tasks simultaneously. Will work in a crew environment. Works in a real-time operational environment where frequent and direct interaction and customers (internal and external) and peers is ordinary.
This schedule requires working 12 hour shifts, normally four days on and four days off, including day shifts, night shifts, weekends and holidays.
Basic Qualifications - Required Experience, Skills:
Requires a bachelor\'s degree in an engineering subject, or equivalent experience, plus a minimum of two years engineering or technical work experience.
One or more years of experience performing satellite operations support.
Requires two or more years experience problem solving and troubleshooting of technical and or engineering systems. This experience would likely be gained through application of technical processes, standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
Requires ability to achieve and maintain Operator Certification.
Requires willingness and availability to work a non-traditional/rotating work schedule. The schedule requires working 12 hour shifts, normally four days on and four days off, including a day shift, night shifts, weekends and holidays.
U.S. citizenship is required.
Requires an active or current (active within the last five years) TS/SCI SSBI security clearance.
Desired Experience, Skills, Knowledge:
Experience performing satellite mission support in a real-time operations environment.
Experience with computer hardware, software, and scripting languages is beneficial.
Must be able to make appropriate decisions under high pressure to sustain basic system operations.
Have the ability to effectively evaluate and respond in real-time to operational problems and execute the appropriate procedures to maintain system operations.
Experience working in a highly interactive and collaborative team environment.
Experience working in direct support of customers.
Ability to travel, although this may not be required, and any travel would likely be minimal.
