Job Description

Responsible for all activities involving quality assurance and compliance with USPS equipment. Conducts inspections, audits, root cause problem analysis and proposes resolutions. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent in area of specialty. Minimum 5 years related experience. USPS related testing experience can replace up to two years of quality experience. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Works under general supervision. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
Required Skills
Minimum 5 years of relevant quality assurance experience including inspections, audits, root cause problem analysis and resolution required. USPS related testing experience can replace up to two years of quality experience requirement.
Required qualifications:
* Proficient at using Windows based programs such as MS Word, Access, Project, PowerPoint and Excel. Able to check and summarizes large volumes of data accurately and provide reports via Excel, Access and other computer programs. * Completion of ISO 9001 Lead Auditor/Assessor training (certification preferred), * Able to conduct product, process and quality system audits using blueprints, procedures and standards with minimal or no assistance. * Able to manage overall project schedules and resources, develop milestone charts, and prepare project progress reports and budgets. * Ability to develop and implement quality assurance tools such as audits, checklists, inspection and test plans, Pareto charts, histograms and other quality improvement tools. * Able to understand and analyze specifications, statements of work, and quality/manufacturing plans. * Working knowledge of ANSI/ASQ or ISO: Quality Management Systems Auditing and other standards including the latest versions of ISO 9001, ISO 9004, ISO 10005, ISO 19011, ISO 10012, ISO 10015: Guidelines for Quality and/or Environmental Management Systems Auditing) and ANSI/ASQ Z1.4, Sampling Procedures and Tables for Inspection by Attributes. * Able to independently perform acceptance testing of electro-mechanical or electronic equipment, systems or subassemblies. Able to evaluate equipment performance and workmanship, and report test results. Desirable:
* Working knowledge of USPS mail processing equipment, operations, mail flow and policies/procedures. * A degree in engineering or related field or an American Society for Quality (ASQ) professional certification such as a Quality Auditor (CQA), Quality Manager, Quality Engineer (CQE), Reliability Engineer (CRE), Software Quality Engineer (CSQE), Six Sigma Black Belt (SSBB) or ISO 9001 Lead Assessor
