Jobirn is referral network that connects applicants with employees inside the company where they would like to work. Jobirn makes connecting easy through features such as video conferencing, chat and thousands of job listings. Our site helps job seekers get a referral to their ideal job and helps company insiders find the right candidate. If you are a hiring manager or a recruiter, Jobirn is also a free recruitment platform.

3. How does Jobirn avoid spam?

Jobirn has developed strict Anti-Spam Policy. This anti-spam philosophy is implemented through the following:

(b) Reporting spam: Any account will be blocked forever if it was reported and proven as spam three times.
(c) Filter System - for referrers /hiring managers/recruiter to conveniently find out what type of applicants they need.

4. How does Jobirn verify a referrer/hiring manager or a recruiter ?

Jobirn is a trust insider referral network. We guarantee all your insiders´ connections in Jobirn are real. Jobirn has strict referrer/hiring manager/recruiter verification system. Anybody signing up as referrer/hiring manager/recruiter, Jobirn will always request either his/her company email address or his/her office/home phone number, then our customer service will verify it. Only real accounts are accepted, ensuring that you get real connections.

5. Why would I use Jobirn if I´m not looking for a job?

6. Why does Jobirn ask for my Instant Messenger address?

Jobirn wants you to be reachable by employers, and insiders, how and when you prefer - via email, mobile device, land line, or even instant messaging (IM). IM is discreet and immediate, enabling candidates and employers to dramatically reduce the time it takes to connect with one another for an initial conversation. If you elect to use this feature, employers on Jobirn can see when you´re logged into your IM service, such as AIM, and can open an IM dialog with you to begin the interview process. During the chat session, you can indicate your interest and schedule a time to speak directly with the employer or schedule an interview. You have the ability to control this feature. Both employers and candidates can see who is online and speak with candidates. This feature is free on Jobirn.

7. Do I need a resume?

Yes, Jobirn prompts all applicants to upload their resume, and our Applicants Search is based on resumes. For some applicants this step is mandatory. Did you know that employers are 3.5 times more likely to look at your profile and contact you if they see you have a resume attached? It is highly recommended that you upload your resume.

8. Why won´t my resume upload?

Currently Jobirn accepts documents in the following formats: Microsoft® Word® (.DOC, .DOCX), Adobe® PDF (.PDF), HTML Format (.HTM, .HTML), Rich Text Format (.RTF), and Plain Text (.TXT). The file size must be less than 1MB. If you cannot upload your resume, please contact our customer service through chat and they can either help you upload it or upload it for you.

9. How do I favorite my companies or referrers?

When you find your favorite company, you can either choose "Apply" on Company Detail Information or right click your mouse and select favorite. You can also right click on referrers to add them to your favorites list. Your favorite companies and referrers show on the right sidebar.

10. Where does Jobirn get all the jobs for Jobirn Search?

Most of jobs at Jobirn are directly posted by company employees ("referrers") and hiring managers as well as a few executive recruiters. Jobirn´s search also crawls the web several times a day to gather the newest jobs from hundreds of job sites.

At the moment, Jobirn only lists jobs that are available within the USA.

12. What are refos? How do I get refos?

To encourage participation, reward contributors, and reduce spamming, Jobirn has a system of refos. The number of refos you get depends on the specific action you take.

15. What is video interview and how can I conduct?

Video interviewing can be a great tool for recruiters. You can interactive candidates in real time, for free, without having to travel. It´s 10 times more effective that telephone interview.

To start a video interview, you must setup webcam first, or you could only have audio interview, find the icon on top-right side of each chat window, and that´s it!

16. How could I build my network?

With our new networking tools, you can build your Jobirn network and gain access to people and information to help further your career.

Favorite referrers and companies: You can add any person or company on the site to your favorite list- this is a quick way to create a list of people and companies you think are interesting.

Contacts: If you know people already using Jobirn, you can add them to your Jobirn network. Just click "Add to contacts" from any people search list, or from their profile. You can also add people you are interested in to your contact list.

Get Recommendations: You can ask any contact or your friends to recommend you. If they accept, we´ll keep track of your recommendation list and include that information in your network snapshot. We´ll also give them the option of writing you an endorsement.

Expand your network: You can also expand your Jobirn network by inviting your friends and colleagues. When they accept your invitation, we´ll automatically add them to your network list.

Keep in touch: You can chat with any contact at any time to maintain your professional relationship.

17. How could I get email from Jobirn?

There are a couple of different emails you can receive from Jobirn:

If you don´t wish to receive these messages, just go to Settings and unsubscribe. You choose who contacts you and when.

Many ISP (Internet Service Providers) and email service providers like Yahoo and Hotmail are starting to use filters to keep out spam. Unfortunately, this often means they are keeping out our email to you, too. Some of our customers never get our email alert.
